Computer camps in Fairifield County -- Another barrier to entry for young developers

I have vivid memories of going to computer camp and working on building programs on my Vic20 at Camp Mahackeno.

Looks like there are a few in the area: http://www.nccamp.com/locatn.html

One thing that grabbed me is the cost: 900 a week! Wow. That seems really high to me in terms of what is being taught. There has to be a better return on investment for education.  An example would be to look at the cost for a community college class over the summer or during the semester is maybe 1000 bucks for in state for a 12 week course. But with that being so far out and for a different demographic perhaps a general assembly introduction can be put together for younger students. In my case I am having a hard time grasping the costs for an 8-13 year old versus a college rising junior or senior.

Again, I have to think that a course can be put together for much less.
